Alpe di Era and Gardata: An afternoon hike through history and nature, featuring dinner at a mountain farmstead.
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate
Description
Starting from Somana in Mandello del Lario, we will follow a scenic path that travelers used to reach Valsassina from the lake. We will cross places rich in history and nature and stop among the huts of Alpe di Era for a snack break. On the return, we will descend the other side of the Meria valley along routes and places that represented a refuge for the partisans during the Second World War.
All the paths are well maintained and easy to walk, the difference in altitude (700m) and the length of the route (12 km) require good training and previous experience.
Back in Somana by evening, for those who wish, it will be possible to stay for dinner in a farmhouse near the point of arrival and reward themselves with good local food. Please communicate your participation as soon as possible on the Telegram group. (35 euros and fixed menu all inclusive: appetizer, first course, second course, dessert, drinks, please indicate any allergies or intolerances).
For those coming by train, a ride is offered from Mandello station (or Lecco due to possible interruption of the line between Lecco and Mandello).
Support will be given to organize car pooling depending on the origin of the participants.

Luca
Nature, safety, and a whole lot of enthusiasm for sharing! Hi there! I'm Luca, and I've always been passionate about nature – lucky enough to live right next to it every day. My professional background has been focused on safety and the environment for years, but I felt the need to combine my skills and passion into something even more engaging… and that's how my adventure as an AIGAE Environmental Hiking Guide began. Today, I lead groups to discover the wonders of nature, with a special focus on sustainability, well-being, and team spirit. I believe in hiking that's good for the body, good for the mind… and that creates new connections! Let's have fun together and learn to observe the world around us with fresh eyes! 😊
