Aperitrek in Ortisè: sunset aperitif and an autumn loop hike in Val di Sole

A loop through the high meadows above Mezzana, with autumn colors setting the woods ablaze.

We set off with the Guidders from Malga Stabli, where the pastures are already turning gold and copper. We climb through larches that seem to be on fire up to the Bivacco degli Alpini, where we'll stop together for an aperitivo as the sun sets. Trento DOC sparkling wine, cured meats and cheeses typical of Val di Sole will refresh our bodies while the sunset view warms our spirits!

The route is a loop: the first stretch climbs steadily, with switchbacks that warm up your legs, then it descends gently back toward the starting point, among grazing cows and the rustle of leaves underfoot.

With a bit of extra effort, you can take an optional detour to Lago di Ortisè, following a water pipe through the rhododendrons: the view of the lake rewards every step.
