Valmalenco's most photographed lake, among golden larches
A hike among majestic views, working alpine pastures and the charm of the real mountains. From the car park before Campo Moro we climb gently along the gravel road leading first to Rifugio Cà Runcasch and then to the famous Rifugio Cristina, framed by Pizzo Scalino and by the golden larches of autumn.
After a traditional lunch at the hut we continue along a panoramic trail to Lago Mufulè: a small alpine gem that has become one of the symbols of Valmalenco, its water reflecting the peaks and the larches all around.
It is 10 kilometres and 600 metres of ascent, returning on a loop. In the foliage weeks this is one of the most requested outings: the colours here last only days, and those who have been know it.

Who it suits
This is an intermediate hike: 600 metres of ascent over ten kilometres, on gravel road and panoramic trail with no technical difficulty. Bring boots, water and a windproof jacket: at 2,300 metres in autumn it is cold.
