Barbignaga Peak: A Scenic Hike Between Adamello and Concarena
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate Plus
Description
Cima Barbignaga, situated at 2,367 meters above sea level, is an uncrowded gem that offers one of the most comprehensive views of the Adamello. The route starts from Paspardo and crosses forests of larch and fir trees, alpine huts and pastures that open towards changing natural spectacles. After a steep but steady climb, we will pass by the Rifugio Colombè, an excellent support point both on the way there and back, before the path climbs steeply towards Monte Colombè and the final ridge that leads to the summit.
At the summit, we are greeted by a cross and a Madonna, silent witnesses of efforts made in every season. From here, the panorama is stunning: to the east, the lush Adamello massif and Pizzo Badile, to the south, the Valle Camonica, to the west, the Concarena and, on clear days, the distant silhouettes of the Orobie and Bernina mountains, and Lake Arno right in front of us.
A little-known peak that offers immense joy for the eyes.
