A hike among golden woods and endless pastures, to experience autumn at its most authentic. We are in Lessinia, the plateau above Verona, where the landscape is made of alpine dairies, dry-stone walls and beech woods that catch fire in October.

We start from the Folignani wood, where autumn colours light up every path, and climb the striking Vajo dell'Anguilla: a narrow valley between rock formations full of fossils — this was once a tropical sea floor, and the remains are still visible in the stone.

Reaching the high pastures the view opens over the plateau: 14 kilometres and barely 450 metres of ascent, an easy route that takes all the time it needs for looking.
