Description
The red dot at 2,590 metres, in the Adamello Park
A spectacular hike in the heart of the Adamello Park, discovering Bivacco Macherio: one of the most captivating viewpoints in Val Camonica, at 2,590 metres on a rocky spur in the Tredenus basin.
From up there the view opens onto some of the most iconic peaks in the area: Pizzo Badile Camuno, the majestic Concarena and the Corni di Tredenus, which ring this corner of wild, grand mountain country.
We start above Cimbergo and pass Rifugio De Marie al Volano before tackling the long switchback climb into the basin. It is 19 kilometres and 1,400 metres of ascent over eight hours: a long day, for trained legs.
