Campelli Loop: A Scenic Trekking Adventure
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Difficult
Description
The Campelli Ring is a high-altitude trek, particularly scenic, that connects the Artavaggio Plains and the Bobbio Plains, through the Mughi Valley and the famous Stradini Path, amidst limestone ridges, spires, and the green pastures of Artavaggio and Bobbio. We will start from Moggio at about 1000 m, taking the path that leads to the Artavaggio plains. Once at the Nicola Refuge, at an altitude of 2000 meters, we will take the Mughi path which, passing right through the Mughi pass, will take us to the Bobbio plains where you can admire the beautiful artificial lake. The entire path is dominated by the peaks of the Campelli and offers breathtaking views of Valtorta, the Bergamo mountains, and the Pizzo dei Tre Signori. Once in Bobbio, we will pass by the Lecco Refuge, where we take the Stradini Path towards the Artavaggio Plains. The Stradini Path, which has some slightly exposed sections with equipped cables and ladders, is incredibly scenic and offers a splendid view of the Grigne and the Valsassina Plateau. For the return, we will take the Burei Canal which will take us back towards the valley, thus closing the long and panoramic ring around the massive Zuccone Campelli.

With a degree in engineering, I live in Lecco, where I was born and raised in the foothills of Mount Resegone. I've always loved my beautiful city, nestled between the lake and the mountains, for the spectacular scenery it offers from every angle, whether from its mountaintops or the shores of the lake. Over the years, I've dedicated my free time to various outdoor sports, including trekking, cycling, canoeing, and skiing, and have even participated in several trail running and skyrunning races. My deep passion for nature and my local area has led me to become a Mountain Leader, allowing me to share my love for the trails, peaks, and breathtaking landscapes that the Lecco region and its surroundings have to offer.
