Passo dei Campelli from Schilpario: the full climb
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate
Description
The Conca dei Campelli climbed from the valley floor
In the heart of Val di Scalve, between alpine pastures and dolomite walls, runs one of the most striking routes in the Scalve Dolomites: the climb to the Conca dei Campelli, the Passo dei Campelli and the panoramic Rifugio Campione.
Unlike the short version, here we start from the Fondi di Schilpario, on the valley floor: 1,000 metres of ascent over 14 kilometres, with a landscape alternating larch woods, high pastures and the walls closing the basin. This is the variant for those who want to earn the pass step by step.
From Passo dei Campelli, a viewpoint straddling Val di Scalve and Val Camonica, we climb to the summit of Monte Campioncino and then drop to the hut, at 1,945 metres, for lunch.
Why come
- the Conca dei Campelli climbed in full from the valley floor
- Passo dei Campelli, between Val di Scalve and Val Camonica
- the summit of Monte Campioncino along the way
- Rifugio Campione at 1,945 metres for lunch
Who it suits
