Carega Peak Loop Hike from Revolto Hut in the Heart of the Lessinia Natural Park
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Difficult
Description
A spectacular hike in the heart of the Small Dolomites, to conquer Cima Carega (2259 m), the highest peak of the mountain group of the same name between Veneto and Trentino.
Despite the relatively low altitude, these mountains surprise with their imposing appearance: Dolomite spires, vertical walls, and rocky ridges create an extraordinary alpine landscape just a few kilometers from the Venetian plain.
Our trek takes place in the wild environments that separate Lessinia from Val d'Illasi, crossing high-altitude pastures and panoramic trails that gradually lead towards the Dolomite environment of Carega.
As you ascend, the panorama becomes increasingly magnificent: before us rise the great limestone walls of the massif, while behind us open the valleys of Lessinia and Veneto.
The final ascent leads to Cima Carega, where the famous Rifugio Fraccaroli stands, one of the most panoramic refuges in the Small Dolomites.
From the summit, the view sweeps 360 degrees over the Dolomites, the Pasubio group, Lessinia, and on clearer days, as far as the Venetian plain.
An intense and panoramic hike, perfect for the most trained Guidders who want to conquer one of the most iconic peaks of the Small Dolomites.
