Description
Wake up in the dark, headlamp on, sky still black. That's how you conquer Cima Longhede.
We set off with the Guidders from Torgnon at around 5:30 am, when Torgnon is still asleep and the stars are the only light. We climb through woods and pastures as the darkness slowly fades, up to the wide, panoramic ridge that opens onto our destination. The route is an out-and-back: we climb at a steady pace, arriving just as the sun rises from behind the Matterhorn, lighting up the whole valley. Along the way, we pass the remains of an old stone mountain hut, now in ruins, a silent witness to those who lived up here before us.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Héloïse, a mid-mountain leader in summer and a ski instructor in winter. I was born in Briançon, in France, and moved to the Aosta Valley in 2022. After a university path in natural sciences and botany I taught in school for 10 years: that's why my outings aren't just walks, but proper journeys into the alpine environment. I work both in the Aosta Valley and in France — Queyras, Briançonnais, Ecrins — and having two sides of the same massif is a luxury I enjoy all year round. I love new experiences and sharing them.
