Description

Mount Confinale is located at the center of the amphitheater of Val Zebrù, Val Cedec, and Valle dei Forni. Seen from Val Zebrù, it appears as a beautiful small pyramid, furrowed by snowy channels that plunge onto the underlying Forà glacier and with a developed north ridge; seen from the south, the appearance is more modest, with ridges of scree and varied slopes. It is a peak that is not difficult to reach but of exceptionally panoramic value.

From the Rifugio Forni, take the path that crosses the Forni stone pine forest until you reach, at about 2300 m, a flat mule track called Decauville. Continue past the Praccio huts, then turn right into Val Manzina, following the path with signs for the Bivacco del Piero-Lago della Manzina. Continue uphill on the pasture with numerous hairpin bends until you reach Lago della Manzina at 2780 mt. From the lake, continue in a west/north-west direction on the alpine pastures of Manzina and then go up a wide valley that leads to the Confinale pass where we find the Bivacco del Piero located at 3166 mt on the saddle between Monte Confinale and Cima della Manzina. From the bivouac, continue along the wide ridge that soon leads to the summit of Monte Confinale at 3370 mt. From the summit, the panorama is priceless: to the north you can see Ortles 3905 mt, Monte Zebrù 3740 mt and further to the right Gran Zebrù 3851 mt. Continuing with the gaze to the right we notice Monte Cevedale, Pasquale, the Forni glacier and the series of 13 Cime up to Tresero and Cima Sobretta.

Hi! I'm Francesca – a ski instructor, Level II STF trainer, ski school director, athletic trainer, and certified Mountain Leader registered with the Lombardy Alpine Guide Association. I was born by the sea, but I live amongst the mountains, where every summit tells a story of challenge and every trail unveils a new discovery. I carry the sea within me: that vibrant energy, that desire for freedom and movement that I rediscover every time I strap on my skis or guide someone to high altitudes. I live to share my passion, help others grow (both on the trail and in spirit), and pass on my love for the mountains… with determination, skill, and a smile that’s always ready.
