The trekking to Monte Cornizzolo and Monte Rai from Civate, in the province of Lecco, is one of the most panoramic itineraries in Brianza and the Lombard Prealps. A challenging but spectacular ring excursion that offers extraordinary views of Lake Como, Lake Pusiano, and the mountains of Lombardy.
Starting from the village of Civate, the path immediately enters the woods and climbs progressively along an increasingly steep route that tests legs and breath. However, the effort is rewarded step by step by increasingly wider views of the Brianza lakes.
Reaching the cross of Monte Cornizzolo (1241 m), one of the most famous panoramic balconies near Lecco and Lake Como, the panorama opens 360° on Brianza, the lakes, and the Alps on the clearest days.
From here we continue along the ridge towards Monte Rai, crossing meadows and panoramic ridges with continuous views of the surrounding territory. A training and rewarding trek, perfect for Guidders who want to experience an intense day in the mountains just a few kilometers from Milan.
