Corno Stella: the symbol peak of Val Brembana
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate
Description
Lakes, glacial basins and the valley's most iconic peak
A classic of the Orobie to be enjoyed lightly, among lakes, basins and endless views. The hike leads to the summit of Corno Stella (2,620 m) starting from Foppolo, along a varied and never overly technical trail: the most recognisable peak in upper Val Brembana, its pointed shape visible from all over the valley.
We climb through pastures and glacial basins, passing Lago Moro, where the view opens over the upper valley and deserves a long first stop. From there the trail continues towards the final ridge and the summit.
From the top the view is spectacular: it takes in the Orobie peaks, the lakes below and, on clear days, reaches as far as the Rhaetian Alps. Ten kilometres and 950 metres of ascent.
Why come
