Description

A trek in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park that truly feels like the high mountains. From Rifugio Lagoni, the route climbs toward Lago Scuro and Passo di Badignana, then the trail runs along the ridge, touching Monte Matto, Monte Paitino, and the summit of Monte Sillara, between Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany. With the Guidders, you’ll enjoy a unique, panoramic hike among glacial lakes, high-altitude meadows, and sections over rocky, exposed terrain. Sure footing and good fitness are essential: the traverse is long, with constant ups and downs. In return, you’ll take home a day of community, with breathtaking views of the Apuan Alps, the Magra Valley (all the way to the Gulf of La Spezia), and the unique setting of the high-altitude lakes. 5 reasons to go - Apennine ridge with wide-open views - Passing over multiple peaks in a single outing - High-altitude lakes  - Varied trail, never monotonous - A shared experience with the Guidders This hike is special because it reveals a lesser-known side of the Apennines, authentic and unexpected.

Guide

Giovanni

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I’m Giovanni , a Hiking and Environmental Guide, and I design small-group experiences meant not just to cross a landscape, but to truly live it. I'm from the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, the borderlands between Emilia, Tuscany, and Liguria—places where nature, history, and the culture of walking come together in an authentic and meaningful way. In my itineraries, I bring a careful and narrative approach to the land, combined with a dynamic and sporty outdoor mindset shaped by my experience in trail running and endurance sports. Each outing is a balance of discovery, movement, and connection with the landscape, offering a way to experience trails and mountains with curiosity and awareness. 🥾🌿
