"Discover the Val Caldera on Mount Resegone"

The Resegone, with its characteristic saw-like shape, is an icon of the Lecco Prealps, visible even from Milan on the clearest days. But there is a hidden corner, far from the most beaten paths, that deserves to be explored: the Val Caldera. We will start from Lecco - Versasio, ascending from the historic path 1, with a variant that will lead us to a curious boulder with human-like features, known as "l'Omm de Sass". We will then reach the summit of Resegone, where the Rifugio Azzoni will welcome us for a well-deserved break. For the descent, we will take path 8, crossing the suggestive Val Caldera, a landscape that recalls lunar scenarios in an almost Dolomitic environment. We will then evaluate whether to descend through the valley of the same name to the Forbesette spring (from the easier path 16), or whether to continue along path 8, crossing a small canal with the help of a chain, making the route even more adrenaline-pumping and wild until we reach the Giuff pass. In both cases, we will then arrive on path no. 7, which is the Resegone ring, which will take us back to Piani d'Erna. From there, we will descend to Lecco passing by the Spreafico spring and the Rifugio Stoppani with some possible variations always in search of little-known paths. An ideal excursion for those who want to discover a secret side of the Resegone.
