From the hamlet of Pianezza (1267 m), above Vilminore di Scalve, we will walk along a path that rises gently through snow-covered meadows and ancient huts. A quiet, flat road leads us into the forest, where firs and larches laden with snow create a muffled silence, ideal for the atmosphere of the Epiphany. The route follows the wildlife observatory path, offering authentic glimpses of the Orobie Alps in their winter attire.

The arrival at the ruins of the Gleno Dam is a moment that leaves you speechless. The enormous concrete arches, illuminated by the cold light of winter, tell the dramatic story of the 1923 collapse. At their feet, the small frozen lake reflects Monte Gleno (2882 m), creating a powerful contrast between what remains of the past and the silent beauty of the mountain.

The return journey takes place along the famous stretch carved into the rock: a spectacular passage suspended over the valley, which becomes even more evocative in winter. One of those moments that the Guidders remember with a smile — a touch of adventure that perfectly closes the day.
