Pozze di Erve: waterfalls and streams below the Resegone

Clear water and shade, half an hour from Lecco

A cool, authentic hike, perfect for summer days when you are after relief among shade, rock and streams. The Gallavesa stream, at the foot of the Resegone, runs between clear pools and stretches cut into the rock, creating a little-known setting where you walk, cool off and — if you are brave — swim.

We start from Erve, a small village in Val Gallavesa, and follow the stream upwards at a gentle gradient: ten kilometres and barely 400 metres of ascent. The route alternates woodland with passages beside the water, staying pleasantly cool even in July.

The main stop is at the waterfall, where we linger: those who want dive into the pool, those who prefer stay and watch with their feet in the water. It is a pet-friendly outing: dogs are welcome.

Who it suits

This is an easy hike: 400 metres of ascent over ten kilometres, with no technical sections. The rocks near the water can be slippery, so bring boots with a good sole. Pack a swimsuit and towel if you want to swim, plus a packed lunch.
