Foliage in the Langhe: trekking weekend between Vigna dei Pastelli, Neive and Barbaresco
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Easy
Description
A weekend among the vine rows of the Langhe at the moment the vineyards turn yellow and red: panoramic ridges, medieval villages, the Vigna dei Pastelli and, at the table, the flavours of Piedmont.
The programme
Saturday. We set off with the Guidders from Castiglione Tinella, between the provinces of Cuneo and Asti, and walk on dirt roads rising and falling along the ridges, with the Alps on the horizon. We reach the Vigna dei Pastelli, where giant coloured pencils replace the vine posts, then the giant bench of Coazzolo and the painted chapels. Night in a four-star hotel.
Sunday. From Neive, one of Italy's most beautiful villages, we follow the ridges through the vineyards to Barbaresco, announced from afar by its medieval tower. We finish in a winery, for those who wish, with an optional tasting.
