From Como to Monte Boletto by e-bike: the Brunate funicular, a ridge above the lake and lunch at Baita Boletto

A morning by e-bike above Como, with the lake below your wheels. We load the bikes on the Brunate funicular, get off at 715 metres and ride the ridge mule track, past the mountain huts, up to Monte Boletto at 1,236 metres: from there you see the first basin of Lake Como, the Brianza and, on clear days, Monte Rosa.

The route

From Brunate we climb the mule track that follows the ridge, past the huts to Baita Boletto. A last push to the cross on Monte Boletto, then back to the hut for lunch together and back to Brunate on the same track. Down to Como again by funicular.

About 14 kilometres and 600 metres of climb: with pedal assist it is an easy day, fine even for those who don't ride a mountain bike often. We stay on the mule track, away from the technical trails.

Good to know

The e-bike is not included: if you don't have one you can rent it in Como for about €40-60 a day, and we'll point you to the shops when you sign up. You need an electric mountain bike with knobbly tyres and a helmet. Lunch at Baita Boletto is optional and paid on the spot: we book it for the group.
