Monte San Primo by night: full moon over Lake Como
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate
Description
The highest summit of the Triangolo Lariano under the moon
Experiencing Monte San Primo under a full moon is something you do not forget. At 1,682 metres, the highest summit of the Triangolo Lariano offers one of the most spectacular night views over Lake Como: ridges lit silver, the lake shining like a mirror and the profile of the Alps emerging from the dark.
We start from the upper car park at Piano Rancio, above Bellagio, and climb with head torches on open trails: 550 metres of ascent over eight kilometres, with no technical difficulty but with darkness completely changing how the route feels.
At the top we stop to take in the moonlit landscape and, for those who want, to share a night snack with the group. The return closes a loop, with the lakeside village lights visible one by one.
Why come
- Lake Como lit by the full moon
- the highest summit of the Triangolo Lariano, at night
- ridges turning silver under the moon

Who it suits
