With the Guidders, we climb Monte Gridone above Mergugno, in the Canton of Ticino, on a true scenic trek through forest, alpine pastures, and the final ridge. The trail starts at around 960 m and aims for the summit above 2100 m with significant elevation gain: a good level of fitness, familiarity with altitude, and caution on steep sections, rocky terrain, and possible exposed passages higher up are required. In return, the hike offers wide-open views over Lake Maggiore, the Cannobina Valley, and the mountains between Piedmont and Switzerland. Approximate data. 5 reasons to go
