Grignone Experience at the Brioschi Refuge

Challenge yourself with a hike to the top of Monte Grignone! Starting from Balisio, this trek is a fantastic way to test your legs and lungs as you tackle approximately 1700 meters (5600 feet) of elevation gain. But the reward is one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the Lombardy Prealps and Alps! We'll begin our hike directly from Balisio, in the municipality of Ballabio, following a varied trail that winds through forests, pastures, and high-altitude rocky terrain. After a long initial stretch through the woods, we'll reach the Rifugio Antonietta al Pialeral, a welcoming mountain hut offering refreshments and an incredible intermediate view. From there, the real ascent to the Grigna Settentrionale (Northern Grigna) begins, following the standard route to the summit and the Rifugio Brioschi (2410m / 7900 feet), perched right on top. At the summit, the panorama unfolds in every direction: Monte Rosa, Disgrazia, Valtellina, the Apennines, Resegone, and Lake Como – all visible in a single, unforgettable vista.
