Description
On this final leg of the Sentierone, we'll depart from the Sala al Barro station, ascending and skirting Mount Barro to reach the heart of the city of Lecco.
We'll admire the spectacular views from two different sides of the mountain: the balcony overlooking the plain and the Brianza lakes to the southwest, and Lake Como, the city of Lecco, Mount Resegone, and the Grigne mountain range to the northeast.
We'll journey through time, exploring the customs of Brianza's rural communities. We'll discover the secrets of the small natural jewels that Mount Barro still protects, even after the retreat of the ancient glaciers, and we'll walk in the shade of its lush forests.
Finally, we'll return to the plains to cross the Adda River on the historic Azzone Visconti bridge, before reaching the city center and catching the train back to Sala al Barro.
