Hike the Path of the Gods: Trekking from Bologna to Florence through history, the Apennines, and authentic Italian villages.
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate Plus
Description
Start from Piazza Maggiore, in the vibrant heart of Bologna, among endless porticoes and medieval towers. The path leads you towards the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, where myths, history, and ancestral silence intertwine – on a journey of approximately 130 km, from the city of donkeys to the cradle of the Renaissance
Every step becomes suspended between past and present: ancient Roman roads, like the Flaminia Militare, emerge beneath your shoes, with millennial basalt stones witnessing Etruscan merchants and Roman legions.
The walk is not just a physical challenge, but a sensory and cultural experience: you stop in authentic villages such as Monzuno, Madonna dei Fornelli, Sant'Agata, San Piero a Sieve, where you are welcomed by Emilian and Tuscan hospitality, made of trattorias, farmhouses that offer genuine flavors and wise stories.
The trek finally leads you to Piazza della Signoria, in Florence: a triumphant entrance into the heart of art and history, where the journey becomes a return home, towards the beauty that has crossed centuries and generations.
On this journey, every step is a bridge between myth and reality, an invitation to slow down, breathe, meet oneself and ancient stories.
