hike to Monte Due Mani from Ballabio, taking in a panoramic ridge and a spectacular summit

An intense loop hike leading to one of the most spectacular peaks above Lecco. Together with the Guidders, we’ll set off from Ballabio and climb towards Monte Due Mani through woods, past mountain huts and along a thrilling ridge. The final stretches offer adrenaline and sweeping views, right up to the summit with its cross and 360° views of the Lombardy mountains. A tough, authentic and hugely rewarding day. From the village of Ballabio, we’ll take trail 34, passing by the Baita di Bongio and the Bivacco Emanuela, immersed in a mountain setting rich with views of the Grigna and Valsassina. The climb gradually becomes steeper until we reach the southern ridge of Monte Due Mani.

From here, the most spectacular part begins: a panoramic ridge route with some exposed sections and stretches equipped with chains. No via ferrata equipment is required, but a sure-footed step and a head for heights are essential. At the summit, a vast view awaits us, repaying every effort. The descent will be via the steep path 30, completing an intense and rewarding loop.
