A fascinating and little-visited trek in the heart of the upper Valle delle Messi, amidst high-altitude pastures, scenic trails and stunning alpine lakes. Together with the Guidders, we’ll set off from Sant’Apollonia, following the valley floor before tackling the day’s most challenging climb up to Malga Monticelli. A steady and rewarding stretch that will quickly take us up to higher ground, immersed in an increasingly wild and panoramic setting. Once we reach the mountain hut, we’ll begin a picturesque circular route around the Monticelli Lakes, little alpine gems nestled amongst meadows and rocks. Some sections of the trail are more exposed and less obvious, making this hike ideal for those seeking authentic routes away from the more crowded paths.
