Lagazuoi: Hiking Through History on WWI Battlefields
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate
Description
Lagazuoi, in the Fanis group at the Falzarego Pass, is one of the most iconic peaks of the Great War, used as a lookout point and trench at 2835 meters above sea level, not far from Sass de Stria. At its feet lies Lake Lagaciò, a perennial lake fed by underground springs. For those who enjoy via ferratas, there is the opportunity to climb to the top by taking the Kaiserjager path, which crosses all the internal trenches and tunnels dug into the dolomite.
