Description

Some say it's the most beautiful alpine lake in Valmalenco. One thing's for sure, Lake Lagazzuolo has everything to enchant you: intense colors, unspoiled nature, and that silence that only certain places can offer. But reaching it requires a bit of legwork and a desire to climb! We'll start from San Giuseppe, cross the Mallero stream, and immediately delve into the alpine forest, among larches and the scent of resin. The trail is always well-marked, but the elevation gain is significant, and it's precisely this climb that makes the destination even more special. During the trek, we'll be treated to increasingly expansive views of the Valmalenco peaks, until, almost suddenly, there it is: Lake Lagazzuolo, nestled among the rocks and larches, with its turquoise waters that seem painted. Here, we'll stop for a well-deserved break and a revitalizing lunch, enjoying the scenery and the silence. This hike is perfect for Guidders who love to earn their wonder, one step at a time.

Guide

Ricky

From the canvas to the trails, with a backpack and a heart in the valley! Hi! I'm Ricky, a certified Hiking Guide with a past as an artist (a broke one, but a happy one!). I spent over 10 years in Milan, studying painting and living life in full color… although, let's be honest, the mountains have always been my true canvas. In recent years, the call of my native Valtellina valley became irresistible. I was spending more time on the trails than in the city, so at the end of 2024, I made the most natural choice of all — I returned to Sondrio, enrolled in the AIGAE course, and began this new adventure as a guide. Today, I lead groups to discover the beauty of the Alps, with hikes suitable for all levels. And I have a special place in my heart for those who want to share the trail… with their dog! Because the mountains are even more beautiful when you experience them with those you love.
