Description
Two lakes, one loop, a forest lit up in autumn red and gold.
We set off with the Guidders from Lake Antrona, in Val Antrona, following the lakeside trail as it climbs gently through fall colors. The route is a loop: we rise steadily toward 1370 m, staying long on a scenic ridge among golden woods, then reach Lake Campliccioli and walk its full perimeter before heading back down to the starting point. Along the way we pass close to the dam's guardians' house, a curious technical outpost overlooking the water.
On the north side of Lake Antrona, the trail runs right behind the Sajont waterfall, thanks to a recently maintained walkway with metal railings: a passage that's worth the trip on its own.
