Loop hike on Monte Baldo: autumn foliage in the beech forests and views over Lake Garda

Description
For this loop hike on Monte Baldo, the spectacular view over Lake Garda is only part of the journey.
🥾 We set off with the Guidders from San Valentino, on the Brentonico Plateau, and quickly leave the village behind to venture into one of the enchanting beech forests of these mountains. The climb will reward us with our first glimpse of the lake from the striking Bocca di Navene.
With a few steeper sections that add character to the climb without ever being daunting, we ascend to the Colma di Malcesine, where we can enjoy one of the most beautiful views over Lake Garda.
✨The excitement doesn't end here, as it's now time to tackle one of the most distinctive stretches of this area, the Ventrar path.
The way back feels gentler now that the toughest sections are behind us, made even sweeter if we stop for a snack with homemade cakes at the Fos-ce refuge. ☕

Who it's suitable for
Trained legs are needed for the length of the loop and for some steeper sections: no technical passages, but a bit of exposure. Those who walk steadily will enjoy it from start to finish.

I love guiding people through these places from the perspective of someone who lives here every day, sharing stories, local insights, and the little details that often go unnoticed by visitors. When I’m not guiding, I continue to enjoy the mountains as a hiker and climber, occasionally treating myself to a via ferrata adventure as well.
