Description
Mount Faiè is one of the most scenic and surprising excursions in the Verbano area. Starting from Bracchio, a hamlet of Mergozzo, this itinerary offers extraordinary views of the pre-Alpine lakes and a varied, complete, and never monotonous route.
The initial ascent leads to Alpe Vercio (828 m), an exceptional panoramic point from which you can admire Lake Mergozzo, Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta, and, on clear days, the majestic profile of Monte Rosa. From here, continue towards Colma di Vercio and then along the ridge, choosing between a more panoramic path or a more shaded one in the beech forest, until you reach the summit of Mount Faiè (1,352 m).
From the summit, the panorama is wide and bright, a true balcony suspended between lakes and Alps. The descent towards Ompio and the Rifugio Fantoli adds variety to the itinerary, before returning to Bracchio along a well-marked path.
