Description
Fortresses and panoramas on Lake Maggiore
An excursion that combines breathtaking landscapes and traces of history. 🌄 We will walk among the peaks of the Verbano Prealps, with Lake Maggiore at our feet and, on the horizon, the white silhouettes of Monte Rosa and the great 4000-meter peaks of the Valais. Behind us, the severe Lepontine Alps with Monte Leone dominating the scene.
The route will take us into the heart of the Valgrande National Park, one of the wildest corners of the Alps, where nature has taken possession of everything. Here we will also encounter the ancient fortifications of the Cadorna Line, built during the Great War and still in perfect condition today: bunkers, trenches and tunnels that tell a piece of Italian history.
