Mount Antola Loop Hike from Tonno: Scenery and History on the Ligurian Apennines
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate
Description
A trek in the heart of the Antola Park that starts from one of the most intriguing villages in Liguria: Tonno. Here, the Guidders begin a complete and surprising circular excursion, through dense forests, open ridges, and views that extend to the sea.
The route climbs progressively through paths immersed in nature, reaching Monte Buio and the ridge that offers a continuous view of the Ligurian Apennines. The ascent to the summit of Monte Antola, the symbolic peak of the area, is accessible but highly scenic, with a panorama that embraces four regions and evokes the historic Salt Road.
It's not just a panoramic trek: it's a journey through nature and history. The return loop is still surprising, passing next to an ancient mill from 1420, hidden in the woods. A perfect experience for those seeking a varied, authentic, and memorable excursion in the heart of the Apennines.

Roberto
Hi Guiders! I'm someone who grew up surrounded by trails, cows, and a whole lot of curiosity. I've been hiking in the mountains ever since my father decided to take us "up there," all together. I'd barely learned to stand on flat ground, but it was among ridges, forests, and rocky paths that I truly learned to walk. Trained as an architect, I've always observed how humans inhabit the mountains: shelters, alpine pastures, traces of life suspended between nature and human ingenuity. For over ten years, I've been guiding hikers through valleys, peaks, and forgotten alpine meadows, immersing ourselves in nature with all our senses to grasp its full charm. My mountain experience is this: continuous exploration, authentic experiences, absolute safety, and genuine well-being. It's a never-ending whirlwind of outdoor adventures... and I never want it to end. 🧡🌄
