High altitude

Description

Mount Legnone, with its 2,609 meters, is the highest peak in the province of Lecco and one of the most spectacular in the Upper Lario area. In winter, it offers an even more evocative experience: clear panoramas, profound silences, and an atmosphere that makes every step special. Imposing and harmonious in its pyramidal shape, Legnone dominates the Colico plain and the Upper Lario, marking the natural border between Valtellina and Val Varrone, next to Valsassina. The ascent route is long and rewarding, ideal for Guidders with good training who want to experience a full day in the mountains. The altitude difference is significant, but distributed progressively, allowing you to manage your pace well and enjoy the journey. With the snow, the landscape opens up step by step and the panorama becomes increasingly wide: from the summit, the view sweeps freely over Lake Como, the Orobie Alps, and a large part of the Alpine arc. A view that fully rewards the climb and leaves that feeling of authentic satisfaction that only the great mountains can give. A perfect winter trek for those who love iconic peaks, vast panoramas, and the beauty of the mountains experienced with calm, attention, and a spirit of sharing together with the Guidders community.
