Cima Plem: 3,182 metres above Val Miller

The summit that looks the Adamello in the eye

Set among the most secret folds of the Adamello Park, Cima Plem rises to 3,182 metres, silent and solemn, like a sentinel watching over the whole Val Camonica. Many consider it the finest viewpoint in the group: better even than the better-known Cima Adamello, because from here the massif is seen whole.

The route runs up Val Miller, between alpine lakes and granite walls, passing Rifugio Serafino Gnutti where the valley opens and you find yourself facing Monte Adamello. From there we climb to Passo del Cristallo and then, with a final stretch, to the summit.

It is 19 kilometres and 1,650 metres of ascent over ten hours, starting at dawn: the most demanding day in our Brescia calendar, for those after genuine effort and the views that repay it.

Who it suits

This is a hard hike: 19 kilometres, 1,650 metres of ascent and ten hours on the move, with alpine ground higher up. Excellent fitness, a sure step and familiarity with altitude are needed. We start at dawn. Bring sturdy boots, poles, a head torch and at least two litres of water.
