Monte Poieto and Cornagera – Amongst Pinnacles, Canyons and Breathtaking Views

A surprising excursion just a short distance from Bergamo, amidst woods, rocky towers and magnificent views. Monte Poieto rises on the watershed between Val Seriana and Val Brembana, a natural balcony where every step offers new perspectives.

The real spectacle is the Cornagera, an incredible labyrinth of walls and fissures that seem sculpted by nature's own hand. The path starts from Aviatico and soon ventures into the woods, until entering the heart of the cliff: here you walk through narrow passages and rock faces that suddenly open onto wild and magical views.

The most evocative moment? Crossing the “Büs de la Carolina”, a carving in the rock so narrow that it allows the passage of only one person at a time. An easy but exciting stretch, which gives the thrill of adventure in total safety.

After passing the canyon, the path opens up between meadows and clearings to the wide summit of Monte Poieto, where the view embraces the two valleys and the profile of Monte Alben. A perfect panoramic stop to share a snack and a laugh with the Guidders, before descending towards the Forca di Aviatico and closing the loop through the Passo di Ganda.
