Mount Sasna from Lizzola: A Challenging Loop Hike with Breathtaking Views!
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate Plus
Description
Mount Sasna (2229 m) is one of those peaks that doesn't give itself away easily: you really have to climb here... and Sasna puts your muscles to the test.
We start from Lizzola, going up along the path that leads to the Passo della Manina, a historic pass between Val Seriana and Valle di Scalve.
Here the landscape changes: the spaces open up and you enter the wildest heart of the Orobie.
The final climb leads to the true summit of Sasna. From the top, on clear days, the view opens up to all the peaks of Val Seriana and the head of Val di Scalve.
And there, as always, the reward arrives:
First the effort... then the view.
During the return, we will stop at the evocative Chapel of the Madonna Pellegrina, an iconic place perfect for a regenerating break.
The descent then continues towards the Rifugio Mirtillo, where you can relax and recover your energy.
An itinerary without technical passages, but with 1,200 meters of elevation gain: you need good legs... but it's always worth it.
And with the Guidders, even the toughest climbs become stories to tell. 🧡
