Mount Sodadura: A Panoramic Hike Amongst Giants - Grigne, Resegone, and Monte Rosa await!

Mount Sodadura (2003 m) is one of the most iconic peaks of the Lecco Orobie Alps, a perfect pyramid that dominates the Artavaggio Plains and the entire Valsassina.

In this Guidders trek, we will reach it without a cable car, facing a real mountain day with over 1300 meters of elevation gain. A complete itinerary that starts from the valley floor and crosses forests, pastures, and panoramic ridges to the summit.

We start from the village of Moggio, where the trail immediately enters the woods and begins to climb decisively towards the Artavaggio Plains. The ascent is constant but rewarding, allowing you to experience step by step the transition from the valley floor to the vast alpine pastures.

Once in Artavaggio, the landscape changes completely: large meadows, alpine huts, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains such as the Northern Grigna, the Southern Grigna, and the characteristic Mount Resegone.

From here begins the second part of the excursion, the most alpine: the path climbs towards the base of the Sodadura pyramid and then along the final ridge leads to the summit of Mount Sodadura (2003 m).

The reward is one of the most extensive panoramas of the Lombard Prealps. On clear days, the view reaches as far as Monte Rosa, while to the north you can glimpse the great alpine peaks such as Piz Bernina.

It is a real climb, one of those that you earn meter by meter. But with the Guidders, the effort becomes part of the experience: between panoramas, laughter, and the satisfaction of reaching together a symbolic summit of the Valsassina.
