Description
An iconic itinerary in the heart of the Western Orobie, amidst panoramic ridges, historic passes, and refuges that smell of authentic mountain life. We start from Lake Cassiglio and take the path that climbs steadily towards the Baciamorti Pass, concentrating most of the elevation gain in the first part: here the pace becomes intense, but the view that opens up repays every step.
From the pass, we continue towards the Bocchetta di Regadur until we conquer the summit of Monte Sodadura (2010 m), an elegant and panoramic peak that dominates the Imagna Valley and the Taleggio Valley. After the customary photos and a gaze that sweeps far across the Orobie ridges, we descend towards the Cazzaniga-Merlini Refuge, where a well-deserved lunch awaits us in perfect Alpine style.
The return takes us back to the Baciamorti Pass and then back towards Cassiglio, closing a complete, physical, and fulfilling loop. A tough but incredibly rewarding hike, designed for Guidders who want to challenge themselves, conquer a symbolic summit, and experience an intense day amidst nature, effort, and genuine satisfaction. 🧡🏔️
