Oasi Zegna in autumn: the Bosco del Sorriso and the basin from Bocchetto Sessera

Oasi Zegna is a wood planted on purpose to be beautiful: beeches, birches and conifers along the Panoramica road, all lighting up together in October. The Bosco del Sorriso is the easy trail through them, with stops dedicated to breathing and listening: forest bathing, but with views over the plain.

The route

From Bocchetto Sessera, the pass on the Panoramica Zegna, we enter the Bosco del Sorriso and walk it slowly, stopping at the points designed for pausing. We continue on the Monte Marca loop, which leaves the woods onto pastures with views to Turin and Monviso.

Packed lunch on the meadow or at the pass hut, then back to the Bocchetto along the Panoramica.

Good to know

The Panoramica Zegna is busy on foliage weekends: early meeting. The hut at Bocchetto Sessera opens on autumn weekends, to be checked the week before.

Getting there

Bocchetto Sessera is an hour and forty-five from Milan: A4 to Carisio, then Cossato, Valdilana and the Panoramica Zegna up to the pass. Free parking at the Bocchetto, which fills up on foliage weekends: early meeting and car pooling in the Telegram group.
