On the Carnic Ridge: admiring the Sesto Dolomites

Description
We will cross part of the Carnic Ridge, the watershed that marks the border between the Dolomites and the Eastern Alps, between Italy and Austria. Not just a border, but a meeting point between different worlds, cultures so close and yet so far apart, completely different mountains depending on where we cast our gaze.
We will be able to admire the Sesto Dolomites (Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Tre Scarperi, Croda Rossa di Sesto, Rocca dei Baranci, Croda dei Toni), but also in the distance the Hohe Tauern massif, with its glaciers, and the high snow-capped peaks of the Aurina Valley.
We will initially ascend to altitude, also using some ski lifts, which allow us to spend the whole day along the elegant ridge. We will then descend to the valley on foot and using public transport to return to the car.
