A fascinating excursion in the heart of the middle Trebbia Valley, amidst nature, geology, and spectacular views of the Piacenza Apennines. Together with the Guidders, we will set off to discover the valley's iconic ophiolites: Pietra Perduca, Pietra Parcellara, and Pietra Marcia, ancient rocks formed millions of years ago on the seabed of the Tethys Ocean. We will walk along scenic paths through Mediterranean vegetation and unique environments of great naturalistic value, climbing up to Pietra Perduca and Pietra Marcia and circumnavigating the evocative Parcellara. During the trek, we will discover geological curiosities, local stories, and endemic plant species that grow only on these unique rocks. At the end of the day, there is an optional tasting at a local organic winery.
