Panoramic Trek in Val di Scalve: Campelli Basin and Campione Mountain Hut

In the heart of the Val di Scalve, nestled among alpine pastures and spectacular Dolomite walls, lies one of the most evocative natural environments in the area: the Campelli Basin, set between the imposing mountains of the Scalve Dolomites.

This trek starts just above Schilpario, the perfect gateway to explore these wild and little-visited alpine environments. From the very first steps, the path enters a dense forest of firs and larches, where the ascent proceeds gently, allowing you to immerse yourself in the silence of the mountains.

As you ascend, the landscape changes. The forest gives way to the wide Campelli Basin, a bright and panoramic alpine valley surrounded by spectacular rock walls typical of the Scalve Dolomites. The trail continues with a gradual climb through meadows and grassy slopes, offering increasingly wider views of the surrounding mountains until reaching the Campelli Pass, an extraordinary panoramic point overlooking the other side towards the Val Camonica.

A little further on, you reach the charming Rifugio Campione, surrounded by meadows and rocks. Here you can stop for a refreshing break or lunch, enjoying the alpine atmosphere and the spectacular views of the mountains of Val di Scalve.
