Description
PeakVisor Backcountry Lab | Guiddy x PeakVisor Exclusive – Sestriere (Via Lattea)
A full day in the backcountry: you really go out there. You really climb. You learn while you ride. This isn't a “tour with a few tips”: it's a hands-on snow laboratory dedicated to splitboarders and ski mountaineers who want to improve their technical skills, terrain reading, and environmental awareness. And yes, you do it during a beautiful guided tour, with operational stops on the ground to immediately apply what you learn.
Plus, it's a special format: PeakVisor Backcountry Lab is a PeakVisor exclusive for Guiddy, built together with the PeakVisor team, Gigi Preskige School of Sestriere for the Guidders community. You use PeakVisor in a real way: you plan, put it into practice during the tour, and then review everything in 3D at the end of the day.
Professionals in the Field (Safety + Learning)
The team makes all the difference here:
Gigi Lozzi – National Snowboard Instructor, founder of Preskige Ski & Snowboard School in Sestriere. Together with him, the Alpine Guides will lead the groups and choose the route and risk management in the environment. Team PeakVisor – App setup, planning lab and coaching on advanced features (3D maps, slopes, exposures, waypoints, offline maps, GPX, flyover), with continuous support for participants.
What You'll Do (on the snow)
Real Itinerary Planning with PeakVisor (offline maps, 3D, waypoints, GPX). During the outing: reading slopes and aspects directly on the terrain.
Guided choices: lines, crossings, key points, group management in the environment. Practical work on GPX tracks (import/export) Final debrief: “Your tour in 3D” (flyover + Q&A) to understand what you did and why.
Group division by level:
Splitboard: Progression + Intermediate + Advanced
Ski mountaineering: Progression + Intermediate + Advanced
Ratio: 1 professional for every 6–8 participants (therefore real feedback, not “single file and go”). Participants are required to already know how to use skins at the basic level and have off-piste descent experience. This is not an activity for absolute beginners.
