Pelvo Waterfall from Brusa de Plan Refuge: An Easy Hike for Everyone!
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Easy
Description
If you want to experience a more authentic, less travelled, and decidedly more immersive trek in Val Maira, the variant to the Cascata del Pelvo from Rifugio Brusa de Plan is the right one for you. A hike above San Damiano Macra, in the province of Cuneo, which combines deep woods, little-used trails and one of the most evocative waterfalls in the valley.
Compared to the classic access from the valley floor, this itinerary offers Guidders a more complete experience: it starts at altitude, crosses intact natural environments, and reaches the waterfall with a more varied and rewarding progression.
The sound of the water accompanies a large part of the route, while the path alternates sections in the woods, panoramic openings, and descents towards the stream. The Cascata del Pelvo, nestled in the rock, is the perfect final point: powerful, wild, and still not very touristy.
It is the ideal trek for those who want something different from the usual, away from the crowds and with a true sense of exploration.
The passage from the Rifugio Brusa de Plan allows you to experience a quieter and more authentic dimension of Val Maira, with fewer people and more connection with the territory. The feeling is that of "discovering" the waterfall, not simply reaching it.
If you are looking for a trek off the classic routes, this is the right time to leave with other Guidders.
