Pizzo Olano: Orobie Alps, Lake Como, and endless views over the Valtellina Valley

A comprehensive excursion into the heart of the Orobie Valtellinesi Park, where the variety of the landscape makes each step different from the last. From the wooded slopes of Monte Olano, you ascend through larches, clearings, and isolated huts, until you reach the wide summit plateau: an open, bright, and surprising space.

The route alternates between forests, alpine meadows, and high-altitude pastures, with larches shaped by the wind accompanying the ascent. In autumn, the colors make the environment even more evocative, but the real spectacle is at the summit of Pizzo Olano: a panorama that embraces the Orobie, the Masino Group, Pizzo Scalino, Adamello, and, to the west, the imposing Monte Legnone with the mountains of Spluga. Below us, Valtellina stretches out to Lake Como, towards Chiavenna and along the entire lower and middle valley.

A tough but extremely rewarding trek, designed for trained Guiders looking for elevation gain, wide horizons, and that complete satisfaction that only a panoramic summit can give.
