Pizzo Poris (2712 m): The Rocky Sentinel of the Bergamasque Alps
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Difficult Plus
Description
Pizzo Poris (2712 m) is one of the most imposing and wild peaks of the Bergamasque Orobie, a mountain that dominates the valleys of the Upper Brembana Valley with a majestic presence and an ascent reserved for the most trained hikers.
Our trek will start from the village of Carona, one of the most spectacular access points to the Orobie. The path climbs through alpine pastures and high-altitude environments until reaching the panoramic Rifugio Calvi, a historic landmark for those exploring these mountains.
After a short break, the most mountaineering part of the itinerary will begin. The route becomes progressively more technical, crossing rocks, scree slopes, and exposed sections that require attention, sure-footedness, and good mountain experience.
The final ascent leads to the summit cross of Pizzo Poris, a true natural balcony over the Orobie. From here, the panorama opens up 360 degrees on the surrounding peaks, including Pizzo del Diavolo di Tenda, Monte Aga, Monte Grabiasca, and the peaks of the Seriana Valley.
An authentic and wild summit that offers great emotions to all the Guidders who love high mountain challenges.
