Pollino national Park Hiking 2025
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Intermediate
Description
A one-day hiking experience (6-8 hours) following the trails of Pollino, ascending to the highest peaks, the roof of the Mediterranean: Serra Dolcedorme (2267 m), Monte Pollino (2248 m), Serra del Prete (2181 m), Serra Ciavole (2130 m), Serra Crispo (2054 m). The experience on the Park's peaks has a unique narrative that winds through transhumance paths, karst dolines, traces of large mammals, and the flight of majestic soaring birds.
From the Colle dell'Impiso pass, the route follows the classic paths without particular difficulties, but still requires good physical preparation: over 15 km in length and about 600-700 m of elevation gain).
The summit landscape summarizes the entire territory: from the Ionian coast to the Tyrrhenian coast, from the Sila to the south to the Lucanian hinterland to the north. A breathtaking 360° view! Among the calcareous landscapes and karst formations of the Pollino Geopark, curious and fascinating plant works modeled by the elements stand out: the "Bosnian pine" (the Park's symbolic tree, an Italian uniqueness). True multi-century sculptures twisted and shaped by the wind and snow that resist at high altitudes as a memory of the places and time.
