"Presolana glows at sunset."
Guiddy Difficulty Levels
Description
The Presolana isn't just a mountain; it's an icon of the Orobie Alps. Its imposing profile, the sheer north face, and the towers winding southwards make it a truly Dolomitic massif. Even a fleeting glimpse is enough to leave you speechless. On this hike, we'll start at the Presolana Pass, enjoying a gentle stroll through the woods until we reach the Baita Cassinelli mountain hut. Here, the view opens up to the southern ramparts of the Presolana: a succession of limestone spires, razor-edged ridges, and peaks that look like paintings. We'll continue along a more challenging, yet carefully paced trail, to the Bivacco Città di Clusone. Here, we'll take a break amidst majestic panoramas, serene silence, and a visit to the Savina chapel, a small memorial at altitude. After soaking in the views, we'll head back towards Baita Cassinelli for a well-deserved aperitivo with good company, immersed in the warm sunset light painting the Presolana's walls. The final part of our return will be on an easy downhill path, accompanied by our headlamps and the magic of the mountain as it drifts off to sleep. This is an experience for those who love hiking in good company, being inspired by breathtaking landscapes, and experiencing the mountains in all their glory.
