Description
The most iconic summit of the Lombard pre-Alps
A thrilling, demanding hike for those who love real mountains. The Grignetta (Grigna Meridionale, 2,177 m) is one of Italy's most iconic peaks, famous for its rock spires, spectacular ridges and trails that climb between sky and lake.
We start from the Piani dei Resinelli and climb a well-marked trail, straight into the pine wood, then among the rocks that made this mountain the historic training ground of Lecco climbing. It is 900 metres of ascent in just seven kilometres: a steady gradient and some passages where you need your hands.
At the summit the view is unique: from the Grignone to the Resegone, out to Lake Como, Monte Rosa and the Apennines on clear days. On the way back, a final round at the Resinelli with a toast or a snack at the bar.
